This call is open to researchers at universities and non-university research institutions, who seek to conduct a cutting-edge interdisciplinary research projects (2 to 4 years) to explore and develop innovative methods and tools to improve health at a population level.

 

A total of € 3,0 million has been dedicated to this call. The funding range per project is € 250,000 to € 500,000.

WWTF provides funding for scientific projects which

  • should explore clearly framed hypotheses and/or research questions that are raised and addressed together by interdisciplinary research teams
  • use quantitative and/or qualitative methodology and can originate from many different scientific disciplines (including but not restricted to biological science, social science, quantitative/computer science)
  • explore questions in public health using a “Health in All Policies” approach, if possible
  • include target group-specific research designs; e.g. by focusing on dedicated population groups
  • promote international visibility and innovative public health research activity in Austria to further develop the field
  • consider and explain potential sex-specific and gender-related aspects
  • span over 2–4 years and can be achieved with funding in the range of € 250,000 up to € 500,000
